History

The modern art can be traced back to a group of Korean nationals in the post Japanese colonial period of Korea.

Grandmaster Ji Han Jae was the greatest promoter of the art.

The art derived from Daitô-ryû Aiki-jûjutsu or a closely related jujutsu system that was taught by Grandmaster Choi Yong Sul.

He later added more strikes with kicks and punches to round out the art. The details of the history are unknown due to both Koreans and Japanese claiming to know the the true history.
