Bruce Lee Biography (a fan's perspective)Bruce Lee, birth name Lee Jun Fan, was born in 1940 in San Francisco, California. He grew up back in Hong Kong until his late teens. Father: Lee Hoi-chuenMother: Grace Ho He started his martial arts life at the age of 13 with the wing chun style of gung-fu. He did it to focus on self-defense for himself. He continued to practice and perfect his forms to a point that only he could reach. His life was dedicated to martial arts and was always expanding his knowledge whenever possible. (He even had over 2,000 books related to the subject!) He is also known as one of the best martial artists to ever live... His dedication and foces was then directed towards the development of the art of
Jeet Kune Do
(which stands for "The way of the Intercepting Fist). Bruce said that the art took out all the "unneeded" parts of traditional kung fu. During the 70's he was badly injured and bedridden for 6 months. In this time he wrote the book called "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do".
